Independence Day of Pakistan Celebrated in Cairo
The 74th anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence was commemorated in Cairo with patriotic zeal and fervor. Keeping in view the sanctity of Moharram-ul-Haram and COVID-19 situation, the ceremony was kept simple and elegant. Ambassador Sajid Bilal hoisted the National Flag on the tune of the National Anthem. Messages of the President and the Prime Minister were read out on the occasion.
Ambassador Sajid Bilal in his remarks underscored the significance of the day by highlighting the unflinching resolve, unprecedented struggle, and unparalleled sacrifices of our forefathers in attaining a separate homeland for the muslims of the sub-continent. The Ambassador stressed on the need to strictly adhere to the principles of unity, faith, and discipline, and to strive for transforming Pakistan in accordance with the vision of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Mohammad Iqbal in our individual as well as collective capacities. He also felicitated the Pakistani community, which could not attend the event in person due to COVID-19 restrictions, and thanked them for their contribution for Pakistan’s development and prosperity.
The ceremony concluded with a prayer for the continued peace, progress, and prosperity of Pakistan.
