Ambassador Sajid Bilal met with prominent Egyptian start-ups with investment interests in Pakistan, at the Embassy today. The guests included representatives from SWVL, Trella, Paymob, Orcas, Kashat, & E-Scapes.
SWVL, the largest bus ride-sharing application, has been operational in Pakistan with an existing investment of US$10 million in the country. Trella, connecting shippers with qualified carriers, was launched last year in Pakistan. Paymob is looking to expand its payment solutions across Pakistan through its point-of-sales operations in the coming months. Orcas, a mobile application that provides educational services and helps connect tutors with parents is also looking towards the Pakistani market for operations.
The representatives of the start-ups appreciated the regulatory regimes and the availability of a talented workforce in Pakistan and shared their experiences of entering the market. The Ambassador lauded their efforts and offered his support for the further growth of Egyptian investment in Pakistan.
