The Embassy of Pakistan Cairo celebrated 74th Independence Day with great fervor today.
Messages of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan of Pakistan were read out for the audience.
Mr. Shah Nazar Khan, Charge d’ Affaires, in his remarks, noted the progress that Pakistan has made through hard work and sacrifices of its people. He thanked overseas Pakistanis for their contribution to the development and progress of their country. In this regard, he informed that two Pakistanis in Egypt – Dr. Syed Jaffar Hussain and Mr. Aziz Muhammad Vasi – have been honored by the Foreign Minister of Pakistan this August, for their exceptional contribution in the fight against Covid-19.
The audience was handed over the Political Map of Pakistan issued by the Government on 4 August 2020, emphatically reasserting Pakistan’s stated position, in light of UN Security Council Resolution.
In the end, children at the event joined the Charge d’ Affairs to cut the Independence Day cake.
The event was attended by a large number of Pakistanis from cross-section of the society in Egypt.
